What is the Work Placement Experience Programme?
The Work Placement Experience Programme (WPEP) is a six-month initiative aimed at providing voluntary work experience for jobseekers currently receiving a qualifying social welfare payment. It is designed for individuals who have been unemployed for at least six months (156 days). The programme offers 30 hours of work per week and aims to help individuals build new skills and gain work experience in areas where they have not previously worked.
Participants are also allowed to work part-time while on the programme, as long as the part-time job does not interfere with their placement and is not with the Work Placement Experience Programme host.
